Discover Chino Hills

Chino Hills is located in the southwestern most corner of San Bernardino County in the Inland Empire of Southern California. In its early days before becoming a city, Chino Hills was used mainly for cattle grazing. Chino Hills began as an undeveloped portion of Chino in the Sleepy Hollow region. Chino Hills, then Sleepy Hollow, was seen as a desirable and remote location for bootleggers and tourists from Los Angeles. Prior to the 1970s, Chino Hills remained undeveloped due to the number of hills in the region making it difficult to build homes. However, as it became a more and more desirable place to be, many extensive housing developments began. They were built with a village feel with shopping centers and parks within walking distance of most homes. The city was incorporated in 1991. There are still cattle ranches to this day and equestrian activities are still very popular in the area.
